We’re excited to share what’s new in the latest release of POM Safe!
New Features

Permissions Guide at Onboarding: A new guide has been added during onboarding to help users understand the permissions required for the app to function optimally.

New Map and Alerts UI: We’ve redesigned the map and alerts user interface to improve clarity and usability. Starting proactive safety features is now even easier, and swiping to start an SOS is now on the main screen. With this update, there is more clarity into what happens next when an SOS alert is started.

Static Navigation Bar: We’ve implemented a static navigation bar to improve navigation consistency throughout the app.

Live Chat Support: Live chat support is now available within the app, making it easier for users to get immediate help.

Text 'SOS' to Start Alert: Users can now start an SOS alert by texting 'SOS' to the POM Safe or POMsafe Help phone number, making it easier to activate safety features when needed. making it easier to activate safety features when needed.

Improved POM Mobile Pairing: Removed the naming step for POM devices, and activation is now asynchronous with pairing, making the process smoother and more efficient.

Improved UI for Viewing Sex Offender Card: Updated the UI for viewing the sex offender card and expanding the photo for better clarity and usability.

Remove Invite Code if User Exists: Fixed an issue where an invite code was still being requested for existing users.

iOS and Android Mobile App (Release 2.5.0) 10/21/24
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to fix bugs and make your experience with POM Safe smoother and more reliable! Here’s what’s been improved in this update:
- Better Location Sharing Prompts on Android: We've enhanced the prompts that help you configure location sharing, ensuring a smoother setup process.
- Improved Pairing Process: Pairing your POM device is now even easier! The app will now automatically power cycle your device during pairing, simplifying the process.
- Seamless Firmware Updates: After updating your device's firmware, your POM will retain its pairing info, so you won’t need to reconnect it in your Bluetooth settings.
- SOS Alerts Refined: Fixed an issue where some alert UI elements would remain visible after ending an SOS alert.
- Accurate Address Display for Alerts: We've resolved a bug that sometimes showed the wrong address in the app during SOS alerts. The alert itself always had the correct location, and now the app will reflect that accuracy, too!

For added discretion, save the fake call number in your contacts under a name that would appear normal if someone were to see your screen. Consider using names like "Child's School," "Doctor's Office," or "Spouse" to keep the call looking authentic.

Add this number to your contacts, and you can start a voice-activated alert using Siri or Google by simply saying, "Hey Siri, call POM Safe Help." Our system will automatically use your profile information and, if the app is running, your last known location to share with our dispatch service, ensuring you get the help you need quickly.
iOS and Android Mobile App (Release 2.3.0)
With the latest release of our mobile app, we've introduced enhanced functionality that allows actions to be taken seamlessly from both your POM device and the mobile app. Previously, initiating a fake call or starting the "Check on Me" feature required the use of your POM. Now, with this release, users can quickly start these actions directly from the app, providing greater flexibility and convenience. Whether you’re using your POM or your mobile device, you now have the freedom to manage your safety features in the way that best suits your needs.
Fake Call
Our new app-initiated fake call feature gives users greater control and flexibility. Unlike the immediate response when triggering a fake call from the POM device, users can now configure and schedule a fake call directly from the mobile app. Simply set a timer, and the app will call you at the specified time, providing a discreet way to manage your safety or exit uncomfortable situations.
Check on Me
Our 'Check on Me' feature just got even more convenient. Previously, users could start the timer directly from their POM device, ensuring they were checked in on at a specified time. Now, with the latest update, you can initiate 'Check on Me' directly from the mobile app. Whether you’re using your POM or the app, the functionality remains the same—providing you with an easy way to ensure someone knows if you don’t check out within your designated time frame.
Save POM in your Contacts
When you first open the app, you'll now be prompted to save all the phone numbers that POM uses to reach you. This includes numbers for fake calls, our dispatch service, and voice-activated alerts. By saving these numbers, you'll always know who's calling.
