Understanding location functionality on your POM Mobile
It is important to note that your exact location will not immediately be available to the dispatcher on the other line. However, in the event of a real emergency, the dispatcher will remain on the line with you as long as needed, and in that time, your device continually sends updated location data that the dispatcher can share with authorities.
Our recommendation as a best practice is to “pin” your location by single clicking the device before you enter a building or other area where cellular coverage may be inhibited. This ensures that the device has an accurate lock on where you are, so that if you have a poor network connection inside the building, dispatch will still have an accurate last location to reference.
